Whipped body butters are much richer than a lotion and packed with nourishing natural ingredients. When used correctly, it can transform dry, dull skin into something genuinely soft and glowing.
But there's a trick to getting the most out of it. Here's everything you need to know.
What Is Whipped Body Butter?
Whipped body butter is a blend of natural butters and oils that have been whipped to a light, airy consistency. The whipping process incorporates air, making it easier to spread and faster to absorb than a solid butter, while still delivering the same deep nourishment.
At Naiga Naturals, our whipped butters are built on a base of Shea Nilotica, Mango Butter and Cocoa Butter, and blended with different organic oils. No water, no fillers, no synthetic emulsifiers. Just pure, concentrated nourishment.
When to Apply Whipped Body Butter
The single most effective thing you can do to maximise your body butter's impact is to apply it to damp skin, ideally within 2–3 minutes of stepping out of the shower or bath.
Your skin is like a sponge. When it's slightly damp, the pores are open and receptive. Applying body butter at this point seals in the water already on your skin, locking in hydration at a deeper level than if you applied it to dry skin.
How Much to Use
Less than you think. Because whipped body butter is so concentrated, about a 10p-coin-sized amount is typically enough for both legs. Warm it between your palms first, it melts instantly on contact with body heat, then smooth it over your skin in circular motions. Start small, build up if needed, and let it absorb for a few minutes before getting dressed.
Step-by-Step: How to Apply Whipped Body Butter
Step 1 — Cleanse
Shower or bathe as normal. For best results, use a gentle cleanser such as castile soap or a natural bar soap.
Step 2 — Pat (don't rub) dry
Gently pat your skin with a towel, leaving it slightly damp. Don't rub. This removes too much moisture and can irritate skin.
Step 3 — Scoop and warm
Take a small amount of whipped body butter and rub it between your palms for a few seconds until it melts into a silky oil.
Step 4 — Apply in sections
Work in sections from head to toe, massaging the butter into your skin using upward, circular strokes. This also stimulates circulation for an extra glow boost.
Step 5 — Allow to absorb
Give it at least 5 minutes to fully absorb before dressing. In warmer months it absorbs almost instantly; in winter you may want to wait a little longer.
How to Use Whipped Body Butter on Hair
Whipped body butter isn't just for skin — it's a brilliant multi-tasker for natural hair too.
- As a sealant: After moisturising your hair with water or a leave-in conditioner, apply a small amount to seal in moisture. Especially effective for 4a–4c curl types.
- As a scalp treatment: Warm a tiny amount between your fingertips and massage into the scalp to soothe dryness and flakiness.
- As a pre-shampoo treatment: Apply generously to dry hair before washing to protect strands from the drying effects of shampooing.

Tips for Making Your Pot Last Longer
- Always use clean, dry hands or a spatula to scoop. Water in the jar can introduce bacteria and shorten shelf life.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- A little goes a long way. Try to resist the urge to over-apply, especially when you first start using it.
Consistency is the secret. Use your whipped body butter daily for 2–3 weeks and you'll notice a real difference in how your skin feels and looks.
