Suitability — Skin & Scalp Types

Which products are good for dry skin?

All of our body butters are designed to deeply nourish and moisturise dry skin. The best one for you comes down to the scent and texture you prefer.

Choose from rich, whipped butters in scents like Cocoa & Vanilla and Mango Twist, or our Golden Jojoba for a rich, balm-like texture that melts into the skin.

Our bestselling Shea Nilotica products are another great option, especially for dry and irritated skin. It has a naturally soft, buttery texture and can be used on both the skin and hair.

Can I use your products on my scalp?

Yes! Our Hair Growth Oil and Golden Jojoba Hair & Body Balm can be used to moisturise the scalp. The Organic Rosewater Mist with Glycerine can also be used as a refreshing scalp mist between wash days.

Are your products suitable for oily or acne-prone skin?

Our Bright Side Turmeric & Lemon Bar Soap is suitable for oily skin and gently cleanses without leaving it feeling stripped. The Organic Rosewater Mist with Glycerine is lightweight and non-greasy, making it a suitable option for oily or acne-prone skin.

Can these products be used on all hair types?

Yes. Our butters and balms can be used across a range of hair textures, from straight to coily. Thicker or drier hair may benefit from more product, while finer hair may need less. For lighter moisture, try the Rosewater Mist as a leave-in.

Fragrance & Ingredients

Do your products contain fragrance?

Some of our products are fragranced, while others are fragrance-free.

The Cocoa & Vanilla Whipped Butter has a warm vanilla scent, while the Mango Twist Butter has a sweet, tropical mango scent. The Golden Jojoba Balm has a berries and frankincense scent.

All of our body butters also have a fragrance-free option. If you are sensitive to fragrance, check the ingredient list before purchasing.

Some of our other products may have a natural scent from their raw ingredients or essential oils.

Are your products free from sulphates, parabens, and silicones?

Yes. We do not use sulphates, parabens or silicones in our formulations.

What key ingredients can I expect?

Our products feature ingredients such as Shea Nilotica, kokum butter, mango butter, cupuaçu butter, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, beeswax, coconut oil, turmeric, rosewater and glycerine.

We choose ingredients for their nourishing and moisturising properties.

Are your products vegan?

Our range is plant-based, but not all products are vegan. Some products contain beeswax.

We do not test our products on animals.

Storage & Shelf Life

How should I store my products?

Keep your products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

Whipped butters and balms can soften or melt in warm temperatures. If this happens, place the jar in the freezer until solid, then allow it to return to room temperature before use.

Keep water out of your jars and always use clean, dry hands or a spatula when applying the product.

How long do products last once opened?

As a general guide, our butters and balms should be used within 12 months of opening. Liquid products such as the Rosewater Mist should generally be used within 6–9 months.

Always check the Period After Opening (PAO) symbol on your product for the recommended usage period.

Do I need to refrigerate anything?

Refrigeration is not required. Store them in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight.

Application & Usage

How often should I use the whipped butters and balms?

Use them as often as your skin or hair needs moisture. They can be used daily or a few times a week.

For best results on the skin, apply to slightly damp skin after bathing.

How do I use the Rosewater Mist?

Shake gently and mist onto your face, body or hair whenever you need a moisture boost.

Use it on its own or before applying a butter or balm to help lock in moisture.

How do I use the Turmeric Soaps?

Lather the soap between your hands or using a face scrubber, then apply to wet skin. Leave on for up to 1 minute before rinsing thoroughly.

To help your soap last longer, store it on a well-draining soap dish between uses.

Can I use the body butter on my hair and on my body?

Yes. Our butters are formulated for both hair and body.

Apply a small amount and add more as needed, depending on your hair and skin type.

Handmade Products & Consistency

Why might my product look slightly different from the photos?

Our products are handmade in small batches using natural ingredients. Natural variations in ingredients such as butters and botanical extracts can cause slight differences in colour, texture or appearance between batches.

This is completely normal and does not affect the quality of the product.

My whipped butter looks grainy — is it still good to use?

Yes. Graininess can occur naturally in whipped butters, particularly those containing shea or mango butter, when they experience changes in temperature.

Simply warm a small amount between your palms before applying.

For a smoother texture, you can also gently melt the butter, then place it in the freezer until solid. Allow it to return to room temperature before use.

Is each product made to order?

Not always. We make our products in small batches to maintain freshness and quality.

Current processing times are shown on the product page and at checkout.
